What is impacted: VIU technology hosted at the Nanaimo Campus VIU IT is performing a major upgrade to our centralized storage system to improve performance, reliability and security. Level of impact: Degraded Performance Services and Servers hosted in Nanaimo may appear unresponsive for up to 30 seconds, twice, during the maintenance window. Access to network shares such as U Drives, Roaming Profiles, My Documents, Desktop Files and Department Shares will disconnect/reconnect twice during the maintenance window for up to 5 minutes. Timing: 9:00 pm to 1:00 am, Thursday July 5. Preparation: Please logoff your computer when you leave for the day on July 5th, 2018. If you need to access and work on files from the network shares listed above during the maintenance window, please copy them to a USB Thumb Drive and work on them from there until the maintenance window is complete. Please remember to copy your files back to the network share afterwards.
