Resolved - RESOLVED- Outlook is reporting that mailboxes are full even if they are under their quota.

A Fix has been deployed on the outlook server. Should you receive a quota error message please close, and then restart Outlook.

If this fails to clear up the quota error, please contact the IT Service Desk.

Technicians are currently investigating.

Should you receive a quota error message please try closing, and then restarting Outlook. This may resolve the challenge for some employees.
If this does not resolve the challenge, please try again in an hour.

Scheduled - What is impacted: VIU Email Storage. Technicians will be upgrading our default Outlook mailbox capacity to 10 Gigabytes of storage.
Level of impact: No impact expected.
Timing: 9:00am to 9:30am, Thursday, May 13.
Preparation: No preparation required. After the mailbox upgrade, you may need to close and re-open Outlook to see the new quota.

Resolved - From Microsoft:

"We've finished the deployment of our fix and we've confirmed via monitoring and user reports that the issue has been mitigated.
Users will be required to restart their applications for the changes to take effect. "

If you are still unable to see the main content of emails this morning, please close and re-open Outlook. This might need to be done twice before the body of email messages appear again.

Identified - UPDATE from Microsoft:

They have identified the underlying cause of impact and are applying a fix. This fix will roll out incrementally over the several hours.
Please close and open outlook twice tomorrow morning - May 12, for the changes to take effect.

Until then for impacted employees, VIU webmail - mail.viu.ca , is your interim workaround.

Investigating - VIU Employees may be unable to view email message content within Outlook installed on devices.
Currently Webmail (mail.viu.ca) is working normally, and can be used as a workaround while Microsoft works on a solution.

Scheduled - What is impacted: IT Helpdesk Client Ticket Portal: https://ithelp.viu.ca
Level of impact: Service Interruption. Employees will be unable to access the IT Helpdesk Client Portal to check the status of their IT requests during the maintenance window.
Timing: 11am to 12pm (noon), Thursday, May 6.
Preparation: None required. If you need to submit an IT Request during the maintenance window please e-mail ithelp@viu.ca. Once the maintenance is complete, an IT request will automatically be created based on your e-mail and you will be e-mailed a ticket number.

Level of impact: Service Interruption. Employees will be unable to access the CIEL Client Ticket Portal to check the status of their requests during the maintenance window.
Timing: 9:30am to 10:30am, Wednesday, August 9.
Preparation: Please do not access https://learnsupport.viu.ca/ during the maintenance window. You can continue sending e-mails to learnsupport@viu.ca during the maintenance window and they will automatically be processed once we are done.

Scheduled - What is impacted: VIU Email Services; We are updating a secondary email server.
Level of impact: No Interruption. Since this is a secondary system, there should be no interruption to our VIU Email Service.
Timing: 7pm to 9pm, Wednesday, May 5.

Students and Employees are encourage to move to Dorico software in place of Sibelius.

Investigating - Sibelius Software License Server is unavailable. Students and employees trying to use the Sibelius software on campus may receive a licensing error and the software won’t work.
