- What is impacted:
ALL VIU technology services will be unavailable. This includes (but is not limited to):
• All email including Outlook and Webmail
• All employee and student computers
• All files
• All network connectivity, including WIFI and VPN
• All administrative systems including SRS, FRS, Library, StarGarden
• VIULearn (D2L)
• All student and employee printing
Level of impact:
Service Interruption. All VIU technology services will be unavailable during the maintenance.
Starting 10:00 pm Friday June 23. Services are expected to be restored mid-afternoon on Monday June 26.
Save and close your work, then log off or restart your computer prior to 10:00 pm on Friday June 23. You will be unable to access your account, email, files, or VIU internet during this maintenance window. If you require access to any files you will need to save them to a USB drive or other storage device (not your VIU computer account or a VIU computer).
Once IT announces that services have been restored, restart your computers prior to logging on. Reconfigure any mobile devices (iPhone, Android phones, tablets) to use email. Some settings are changing. Reconfigure any computers you have set up to use VPN. Some settings are changing.
