What is impacted: Replacing a service on a web server (www2.viu.ca). During the transition period to the new service users may report broken www2.viu.ca links in theirs sites, but this should resolve once the transition is complete.
Level of impact: Service interruption. Links to www2.viu.ca sites will not work during the maintenance window.
Timing: 10:00 am to 12:00 pm, Thursday February 18.
Preparation: If you have work or tasks related to www2.viu.ca, please be aware of the lack of access during the maintenance window. Either schedule your work or copy the information needed beforehand.

Scheduled - What is impacted: IT Helpdesk Client Ticket Portal: https://ithelp.viu.ca
Level of impact: Service Interruption. Employees will be unable to access the IT Helpdesk Client Portal to check the status of their IT requests during the maintenance window. An error will be displaying stating "Page cannot be displayed”.
Timing: 1:30 pm to 3:30 pm, February 7.
Preparation: None required. If you need to submit an IT Request during the maintenance window please e-mail ithelp@viu.ca. Once the maintenance is complete, an IT request will automatically be created based on your e-mail and you will be e-mailed a ticket number.

Level of impact: Service Interruption. Employees will be unable to access the CIEL Client Portal to check the status of their requests during the maintenance window.
Timing: 9:30 am to 11:00 am, February 7.
Preparation: None required. If you need to submit an ticket/request during the maintenance window please e-mail learnsupport@viu.ca. Once the maintenance is complete, your request will automatically be created based on your e-mail and you will be e-mailed a ticket number.

Scheduled - What is impacted: Logins to Unit4/UBW; Due to security configuration changes being made on the server, users will not be able to log-in to Unit4/UBW during the maintenance window. Logins will fail displaying a "Server not responding" error page.
Level of impact: Service interruption. Staff will be unable to login to Unit4/UBW.
Timing: 10:00 pm to 10:10 pm, Thursday February 6.
Preparation: If you need to access Unit4/UBW during the maintenance window please login before the start of the maintenance window. While the maintenance window is occurring, if you are logged in, you will be able to continue using Unit4/UBW

Scheduled - What is impacted: Internet connections to and from VIU Nanaimo Campus. Technicians will be performing network maintenance on the redundant fiber optic links that connect VIU to the internet.
Level of impact: Potential service interruption. There may be a small window of disruption for VOIP or Video Conferencing during the maintenance window.
Timing: 6:00 am to 7:00 am, Thursday February 6.
Preparation: Please make arrangements to do important internet related tasks before or after the maintenance window.
