Resolved - Rogers has posted the following:
"Wireless calls, SMS and data services are now restored for the vast majority of our customers. A small number of services with other carriers are continuing to come back online. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience this outage has caused and thank you for your patience."

A device restart may be needed to reconnect to the Rogers network.

Investigating - Employees with VIU Cellular Phones and other Rogers Wireless users experiencing an intermittent service interruption for wireless voice and data services.

Rogers is working to resolve the outage.

The outage started at 5:30am, today, April 19.

Estimated Resolution Time: Currently unknown.

Scheduled - What is impacted: Network Outage in buildings: 110, 210 (first floor only), 345 (second floor only), 355, and 356. Network maintenance will affect both wired and wireless network access in this areas. You will not be able to remote into desktop computers located in these areas while work is performed. VOIP phones in this Building will not have dial tones and will not work. Inbound calls will go to Voicemail.
Your VPN connection from home to the VIU network in general will still work. Your U drive, network share drives, ect will still be accessible, if accessed from locations out side of the aforementioned buildings/floors.
Level of impact: Service Interruption. The network in the above areas will be unavailable for up to 30 minutes during the maintenance window.
Timing: 2am-3am, Tuesday, April 20.
Preparation: Please save and log off from your computer before the outage window. Complete data transfers, email send/receive prior to the maintenance window.

Level of impact: Service Interruption. All services listed will be unavailable for up to 15 minutes during the maintenance window.
Timing: 5pm to 6:30pm, Wednesday, April 14.
Description: All servers are receiving monthly updates and must be restarted.
Preparation: Please close these systems and all applications connected to these systems before 5:00pm. Do not use these systems during the maintenance period.

Services that may be unavailable for up to 15 minutes between 5:00pm to 6:30pm:
- VIU email (including Outlook, webmail and public folders)
- VIU websites (including www2.viu.ca, isapp.viu.ca sites, InVIU, student pay-for-print website, viuresidences.ca, stuweb.viu.ca)
