Scheduled - What is impacted: Employee and student computers; upgrading software including Office, Adobe, and Windows.
Level of impact: Possible Interruption, computer may need restart. Installations and restarts will only occur during maintenance windows.
Timing: Beginning 11:00 pm, Friday September 21. Continuing until all computers updated.
Preparation: Software updates can cause computers to restart. We recommend that you save and close your work at the end of every day then log off or restart your computer. Do not shut down your computer systems or they will not receive the updates. Your system may not update the first night and may update any of the following nights depending on update load.
Monitoring - Student Pay Printing is back online. IT Technicians have created a possible fix for the cause of the Pay Print system crashes, and will be monitoring it closely over the course of the next week and half.

Update - Students may be unable to access the Student Pay Print systems in Nanaimo and Parksville.

Currently the service is up. Technicians are currently investigating what is causing it to go down.

The issue started occurring at 4pm on the 1st.. Resolution time is currently unknown. Next update will be Tuesday at noon.

What is impacted: VIU student computer accounts. All student computer account profiles ending with “00” through “09” being upgraded to folder redirection.
Level of impact: No interruptions expected. Possible slowness of initial login for approximately 1200 student accounts

Level of impact: Service Interruption. All services listed will be unavailable for up to 15 minutes during the maintenance window.
Timing: Wednesday, 6:00am to 7:00am
Description: All Linux servers are receiving monthly updates and must be restarted.
Preparation: Please close these systems and all applications connected to these systems before 6:00am. Do not use these systems during the maintenance period.
