What is impacted: Employee and student computers; Microsoft is changing how Office 365 (aka M365) updates are installed on our devices. These updates will now occur more frequently than in the past. Moving from a semi-annual update to monthly updates. As a result, the July update will be larger than normal, bringing our software up to date for next month’s updates. Level of impact: App restart. This update will attempt to install while you are not actively using Office apps, as it will need to restart Office to complete. If it cannot find a time when Office is not actively in use, it may prompt you to save your work so it can restart Office. Timing: Beginning Thursday, July 16, at 1 am. Continuing until all computers updated. Preparation: None
