What is impacted: VIU Wireless Networks and Global Protect VPN (vpn.viu.ca) Services. We are preforming maintenance on the servers that manage new logins to VIU wireless networks (VIU-Secure, VIU-Guest, Eduroam) and Global Protect VPN.
Level of impact: Possible Service Interruption. There is redundancy in our systems, no impact is planned. If the unexpected occurs, New logins may not connect for up to 1.5 hours during the maintenance window.
Timing: 9am to 10:30am, Friday, November 26.
Preparation: While no outage is expected, if a network connection is critical for your work during the maintenance window we recommend using a VIU Desktop, or connect to the wireless network/VPN before the maintenance window starts.
