What is impacted: VIU Phone Systems will be unavailable including all Nanaimo campus phones (both Nortel and Mitel systems) and all Mitel phones on remote campuses and sites. No calls will work in/out to/from Nanaimo. Nanaimo main switchboard (250-753-3245) will NOT work. Local 6600 (Security) will NOT work. Some direct phone lines (Telus 1B lines) and Code Blue systems will work (as they are separate from the Mitel/Nortel systems).
Level of impact: Service Interruption. The above phone services will be unavailable during the maintenance window.
Timing: 5:00 pm to 10:00 pm Friday November 17.
Preparation: Have a cell phone hand if you require a phone for work after 5:00 pm Friday.
