What is impacted:Wired, Wireless (excluding VIU-Guest and EduRoam) networks or VPN on all Campuses; IT is performing security updates to a key network service. Any new attempts to connect to the these networks during the maintenance will fail. Anyone connected before the maintenance window starts will remain connected.
Level of impact: No new network connectivity;
Timing: 8:00pm to 9:00pm, Thursday, October 15.
Preparation: For computers on Campus, connect and power on any wired devices or connect any wireless devices before the maintenance window. For computers off Campus using VPN, connect to VPN before the maintenance window. Do not allow devices to go to sleep or power down during maintenance window if you wish to keep network connectivity. If a device is unable to connect after the maintenance window, please reboot it and try again and then contact ithelp@viu.ca.
